Rebuilding seems to be the theme for the 2012 Indianapolis Colts and for good reason. This is a team that went an NFL-worst 2-14 and ranked near the bottom of the league in yards (30th) and points per game (tied 28th). For the disaster that was the 2011 season, it wasn’t all bad, considering the Colts were able to pick up Andrew Luck who officially brings an end of the Peyton Manning era in Indianapolis.

If we were to compare NFL teams to NBA franchises, the Houston Texans would be the Oklahoma City Thunder. They have a big three in Arian Foster/Andre Johnson/Matt Schaub and appear to be the next team on the rise to elite. Despite an injury-riddled 2011, Houston went 10-6 and made the playoffs for the first time in the young franchise’s history.

Have no doubt about it, the Pittsburgh Steelers are still one of the premier teams in the NFL, but unfortunately that doesn’t always equate in the game of fantasy. Ranking 30th in the NFL at 13.6 points per game is hard to swallow, but it really shouldn’t come as much a surprise to anyone because the Cleveland Browns had the 28th youngest offense in the league. With high draft picks Trent Richardson and Brandon Weeden, the Browns aren’t getting any older at key positions and that is why it could be another year to take extreme caution with Cleveland in regards to fantasy.

Cincinnati may not be the prettiest of cities these days, but that doesn’t mean the Bengals aren’t anticipating a successful year on the gridiron. The Bengals are a young and upcoming team who can easily surpass the 21.5 points per game (18th in the league) they scored last season and realistically compete with the rest of the AFC North which doesn’t look nearly as lopsided as it has in the past decade.
