Ali Krieger: USA Soccer’s next heartthrob? (photos)

ali-krieger

Lost in the shuffle of Alex Morgan and Hope Solo, and if you know what they look like, and some of the things they wear, you’ll understand why. To see that stuff go here, and vote in our poll!

But don’t forget Ali Kreger, a stunning brunette with extremely beautiful jet black hair.

Ali Krieger began her career at Penn State University with the university’s Penn State Nittany Lions women’s soccer team. With the Nittany Lions, she was a two-time All-American, a first team NSCAA All-American, co-defensive player of the year, team captain, Big-Ten Freshman of the year and a semifinalist for the M.A.C. Hermann trophy.

While at Penn State her team won four consecutive Big-Ten championships.

Mike McQueary to sue Penn State, seek whistleblower status

mike-mcqueary

Former Penn State wide receivers coach Mike McQueary is filing a whistleblower lawsuit against Penn State. The paperwork was filed today on behalf of his lawyer Eliot Strokoff. That is his name- how unfortunate that we are not joking. You have to admit that’s funny.

Genuinely funny, not dark humor like how Jerry Sandusky is being represented by a man who impregnated a minor who was about a third his age.

A writ of summons for a civil case was filed in county court today; giving Penn State University notice that he’s suing them.

2013 NBA Mock Draft (5/2/12)

nba draft logo

I am well aware that the 2012 NBA Draft has not even occurred yet.  Still, we are looking ahead to the 2013 NBA Draft with insanely early projections on how it may unfold.  Team needs and outstanding trades have NOT been taken into consideration with this 2013 NBA mock draft.  Click on the players’ name for a complete, in-depth scouting report.

(By the way, The Sports Bank was graded as the most accurate 2011 NBA Mock Draft on the web.)

Former NBA TV, BTN, TNT personality Melanie Collins: bikini pictures

melanie-collins

Melanie Collins is a hostess for Total College Sports, videos which appear on numerous big time websites in the ad space- including this one. You can see her in action right here on this site, in the right rail! Since graduating from Penn State in 2008 Collins has worked for Big Ten Network, NBA TV, E! News and a ton of big shooter websites.

She got her start as a bikini model. Because again, having a portfolio of good bikini shots is the most important thing to make it in journalism today. She also was dating, or is dating a pro hockey player. So it’s a good thing she doesn’t cover hockey, then she’d be jersey-chasing and possibly violating media ethics.

Final 2012 NFL Mock Draft 4-26

Ki-Jana Carter at Penn St spring game: horrible sideline reporting (video)

penn-state-kijana-carter

Ki-Jana Carter, the #1 overall pick in the 1995 NFL Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals (yes, there was a day when players who weren’t actually quarterbacks or pass-rushers went #1 overall) does a lot today. According to his wikipedia page:

Carter is now an entrepreneur and sports blogger at OPENSports.com. He founded Byoglobe, a sanitation technology company specializing in disinfection of MRSA-prone facilities, in 2008. He serves as the Sunrise, Florida-based company’s chief executive officer.

I hope that keeps him busy and off the airwaves, because his sideline reporting work for BTN at the Penn State spring game was just downright awful. Below are three clips which showcase his awkward delivery and lack of polish. Of course, he isn’t the worst announcer to grace the Big Ten Network, or even the worst Penn State alum to appear on BTN- Melanie Collins still holds both those “distinctions,” in my opinion.

Pedophilia Stadium instead? Paterno family turns down Penn St. stadium namesake

joe-paterno

The family of Joe Paterno turned down an offer from Penn State University, which sought to rename Beaver Stadium after the late college football leader in Division 1 coaching victories, according to a report from The Patriot-News yesterday.

How about Child Rape Stadium instead? That way you can name it after Paterno’s right hand man of many years Jerry Sandusky. I just realized how odd it is that the stadium shares its name with a slang term for female genitalia, when it’s now become synonymous with the type of acts that only NAMBLA would approve of; illegal and immoral behavior by a man who isn’t really interested in “beaver.” (allegedly)

(again how the f*** is Jerry Sandusky actually married? Who the f*** marries/stays married to [an alleged] child rapist?)

Penn State spring football, life after Jerry Sandusky, Joe Paterno

jerry_sandusky

It was the biggest fall from grace in sports history. Joe Paterno, the all time college football leader in wins, lives just long enough to see his reputation tarnished as an enabler of child rape, and the job he held for multiple decades terminated.

Before Paterno passed on, he stayed alive long enough to see his former right hand man, Jerry Sandusky, deservedly vilified in the media as one of the biggest monsters to disgrace the game.

And of course, this was all the biggest sports news story of 2011. As it should have been.

With Paterno deceased and Sandusky no longer a permanent fixture with the program, where does PSU go from here?

2012-2013 college basketball preseason top 25

uk national champs

With the Kentucky Wildcats cutting down the nets last night, we can officially close the book on the 2011-2012 college basketball season.  Hoop junkies like myself are already looking ahead to next season so allow me to present to you my way too early 2012-2013 preseason Top 25.

There are still several factors that could alter a teams roster between now and the start of next season.  Some of the top players are still debating on whether or not to enter the NBA Draft, some teams will lose players to transfer, and five McDonald’s All-Americans remain undecided on their college decision including the top two recruits in the 2012 class; Shabazz Muhammad and Nerlens Noel.

So here is my preliminary preseason Top 25.  I will updated these rankings once the NBA Draft early entries list is complete and Muhammaed and Noels make their college decision.  Leave a comment below if you think a team is too high, too low, not getting enough respect, or if you notice an error in a projected roster.  (Click here for my way too early preseason rankings from last season.)

Pennsylvania almost evenly split on renaming PSU stadium after Paterno

penn-st.-logo

Polls in Pennsylvania show a pretty close to even split on the issue of renaming Penn State’s Beaver Stadium after Joe Paterno.

A Quinnipiac University survey found that 46 percent of those polled thought the school should rename Beaver Stadium, while 40 percent were opposed. But the margin of error is nearly 3 points among the 1,300 registered voters who were surveyed.
