The legal team of Tim Tebow sent a cease and desist letter to a company that created a t-shirt with a remixed New York Jets logo with a Jesus-friendly theme. As you can see above, “NY Jets” is transformed to “MY JESUS.”
According to a Yahoo! Sports report, Tebow’s attorneys said “the merchandise makes it appear as if Mr. Tebow actually endorses Cubby Tees and its products.”
Niki Noto is a University of Alabama graduate (Roll Tide!) After graduation she worked in the Tennessee Titans media relations and marketing department. In 2010, Noto moved to Atlanta and began working with the Atlanta Falcons as their “Inside Reporter.” In 2011, Noto’s duties expanded into the role of on field game host at the Georgia Dome.
Former Notre Dame golden boy Brady Quinn has a more athletically relevant than himself girlfriend in Team USA gymnast Alicia Sacramone. Quinn made a lot of news when he came into the NFL because he broke two very unofficial records on draft day. He set a new mark for most mediocre looking girlfriend to attend draft day, and broke a second record by becoming the prospect to fall farthest below draft projection.
I know, neither of these records are objectively measurable, but you know what I mean. Although Quinn’s on-the-field performance has done nothing to make us forget his tumbling draft stock, his off-the-field doings have shot up the charts. Meet Alicia Sacramone, the soon to be icon of team USA during the 2012 London Olympics.
New York Giants‘ quarterback and 2012 Super Bowl champion Eli Manning visited CNN’s Starting Point to talk Peyton, Super Bowl ring, Saturday Night Live performance, off-field pranks, taking a month off and his work with nonprofit Build Our Kids Success before-school program.
Manning says, “You know, it’s one of those deals in New York. You win a Super Bowl, but I’m the third most talked about quarterback right now between Mark Sanchez and Tim Tebow and I. That’s the way I like it.”
The Seattle Seahawks may be located in the Pacific Northwest, but their quarterback derby certainly has an upper midwest feel to it. Tavaris Jackson was a longtime starter for the Minnesota Vikings, and Matt Flynn set Green Bay Packers passing records in his limited time running the offense.
But the starter might be a guy you saw calling the signals for a dairyland state team on Saturdays instead of Sundays last fall. Wisconsin Badgers BMOC Russell Wilson, who set the record for single season college football passer efficiency in 2011 is very much a factor in the race to be the Seahawks starting quarterback in 2012.
USA National Team Soccer superstar Hope Solo is back in the limelight with a new ad for G, or Gatorade, well you know what that brand is. She’s pitching the prime, foodish products that you take before your workout to get fired up. Her ad co-stars Cam Newton, the 2011 #1 overall NFL draft pick and star rookie quarterback for the Carolina Panthers.
Some of the best athletes in the world became great because they could dedicate their childhoods and adolescence to training in the best gyms with the best coaches. Their parents invested in their careers and they succeeded. But other stories are far more inspiring, showing that talent, determination, and maybe a bit of luck can take you farther than a fat bank account can. These athletes may have started out with nothing, but now they’re raking in the cash, being honored by their countries, and providing motivation for kids out there with big dreams.
The city of Boston has the Freedom Trail, a critical network of the crucial sites that led to the American Revolution. And soon the town of Green Bay will have the Packers Heritage Trail.

Last night, the Green Bay Packers edged the New Orleans Saints in a game that made us all very happy that we have NFL football back. In that contest, last year’s Super Bowl MVP Aaron Rodgers looked like he might the best player in football. Not just the best QB, but best football player alive.
And as usual, every time Rodgers is on national television, I look at this site’s traffic stats and I see two phrases “Aaron Rodgers Gay” and “Is Aaron Rodgers Gay?” driving more traffic to TSB. During the postseason these search numbers increased, peaking at the Super Bowl of course. Despite the women he’s been linked to, lots of people out there seem to think Rodgers is a homosexual.
I’m telling you now that we will not attempt to answer the question of Rodgers’ sexual orientation here. In fact, I’m not even going to venture a guess about whether Rodgers is straight or gay. What I am going to do is present what we do know about his personal life, and ultimately why none of that has anything to do with why he could be the NFL MVP this season.
Oklahoma State quarterback Brandon Weeden could be the 4th QB off the board Thursday night. He could be the 8th signal caller off the board Friday or Saturday, or anywhere in between. He’s 29 years old which is an ancient redwood as far as NFL Draft prospects go. He’s also married to a decent looking woman.

Remember our good friend Sarah Jones who was once a member of the Cincinnati Bengals cheerleading squad? The former schoolteacher is being indicted on charges of having sex with a student. A grand jury in Kentucky indicted Sarah Jones, 26, who is also a ninth-grade English teacher, of first degree sexual abuse and unlawful use of electronic means to induce a minor to engage in sexual or other prohibited activities.
Jones allegedly had sex with a student at her apartment four or five times, a crime punishable by up to five years in prison. “Unlawful use of electronic devices to solicit illegal activity” means she sent allegedly sent flirty text messages. That’s another possible five years in jail.
In October 2009, Bengals players called her saying they saw a posting on TheDirty.com claiming she had been seen around town with a Cincinnati Bengals player and had sex with the entire Bengals football team.
You’ve heard of the expression “out-kicking your coverage,” or perhaps “punching above your weight class?” That’s what this post is all about, five guys in the sports world who are WAY overachieving in terms of their GFs, wives etc. Some of these men have fame, big money and are in tremendous physical shape, but some of them don’t.
And even the guys in this group that do have those qualities…when you see them next to the gorgeous beings they’ve landed, the extreme physical disparity is still outrageous and sometimes laughable.
We begin with a couple which made big news last week, or at least one half of them did. 2009 Miss Texas Brooke Daniels finally returned the $76,000 engagement ring Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Roy Williams sent her in the mail alng with a video proposal. What a shock she said no. What’s more insane, spending long dough like that on a little rock? Or sending it snail mail? Or proposing in any manner that isn’t in person?
