Derrick Rose is back to his old self; it seems. From an exterior standpoint- he’s back. The mask and fro look are now kaput. Whether or not he regains the explosiveness and production that he once had is a different story that we’ll have for another space and time.
Derrick Rose told the media tonight, in regards to the mask: “I just didn’t want to wear it anymore. it might be over with.”
D. Rose went 4-10 from the field tonight for 9 points, 3 assists, 3 rebounds. His individual highlight was a jump shot near the elbow in the closing seconds that made it a two possession game and put the New Orleans Pelicans out of reach. The Bulls win moved them to 13-8 on the season.
In regards to the hair, Rose said:
“I wanted waves again. I want to brush my hair a little bit, that’s the only reason why I cut my hair.”
He was then asked by a reporter how he gets his hair so wavy
“I don’t want to give up my secret, but you’ll see ’em in a little bit,” Rose responded.
Rose took the mask off versus the Clippers, but this was his first game sporting the new do. This interview is also the first time that he said both the mask and old haircut are through.
