When I was a kid growing up in the 1980s Denis Savard was Chicago Blackhawks hockey. The first thing that came to mind with the Hawks back then was Savard. The “Spinorama,” “Savoir Faire,” “Savvy,” and in more recent years “commit to the indian.” The nine time NHL All-Star trails only Bobby Hull and Stan Mikita for total points in Chicago Blackhawks history.
If you’re making a Blackhawks Mt. Rushmore, Denis Savard is unquestionably a part of it. He had his number retired by the team in 1998, and he entered the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2000.
This exclusive was all about the Hawks. We talk about the current team with the current Ambassador and discuss what the stretch run and the playoffs might have in store.
