The 2010 Stanley Cup featuring the Chicago Blackhawks vs. the Philadelphia Flyers is the hottest ticket in Chicago since the ’05 White Sox World Series. I probably should’ve applied for media credentials for it, all they can do is say no, right? But I was able to score a ticket for game 2 through friends of friends for a price that wasn’t too exorbitant. Well, it was still scalper marked up, but it wasn’t ridonkulously expensive.
Coincidentally, my seat was a section over from the overflow media section they created in the 300 level for the game.

Hockey is the opposite of basketball, in that the best place to watch it is from high up, not right there on top of the action. That’s why the put the media courtside for hoops, and way up high for hockey.
That awesome “hit the ice” intro, the little CGI show that I love so much was even sweeter during the Finals because this time they included a puck destroying the logos of all 3 playoff teams they’ve eliminated in the playoffs so far.
-Bulls superstar Derrick Rose was in the house, and everyone loved it when they showed him on the scoreboard, but he was a robot as usual. Rose never shows any emotion- ever.
-This one dude there had a crazy jersey, with no number on the back, but instead listing the names of Rocky Wirtz, Stan Bowman, John McDonough, Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane. I took a pic, it’s in the album. I thought the “Filthydelphia” sign was pretty clever
-Also clever was a Philly taking a picture of three entire sections of 300 level Hawks fans flipping him the bird.
-You’ll notice that this album includes no pictures of “the skankhawks,” or “Hooters waitresses on ice” as I call them. You know them better as the “Ice Crew.” Unless you’re close enough to see all their tramp stamps, no pics of them are necessary. What’s funny is there actually is a group of fully clothed guys out there doing the work of shoveling ice at the same time they’re out there. Which makes their uselessness even funnier.
