It’s a Chicago Blackhawks podcast with a “California Love” theme. Rafer Weigel of ABC 7 Chicago did this podcast from Los Angeles where he’s covering the Western Conference Finals from Long Beach to Rosecrans; it’s west side so you know he won’t bow down to no man. We did this spot right after Rafer got back from the L.A. Kings practice facility in El Segundo.
Thankfully, Mr. Weigel did not leave his wallet there…..but the Blackhawks “got to get it, got got to get it” in game four. Down 2-1 to the Kings, the Stanley Cup hopes live and die in L.A. It’s the place to be. You got to be there to know it, and everybody want to see.
Will the Blackhawks emerge from that sunshine state, where you never find a dance floor empty, with the series tied? With the Kings show Chicago that the West Side is the best side?
The conversation with Rafer Weigel shifts from Blackhawks playoffs to Cubs stuff around the 22:50 mark.
Follow Rafer on Twitter here. He Tweets out a lot of good photos, like this one below of Jonathan Toews. There’s some Slash in there too, as he played the national anthem before game three.
