Arsenal Manager Arsene Wenger revealed Saturday that he is in talks with Theo Walcott, the current Gunners player who has been with the team the longest. He only has one year left on his dealm but he is confident that he will sign a new deal with the club.
There are multiple British media reports claiming that the 26-year-old forward is confident he can land a new contract in excess of £100,000 per week. So obviously the England international is extremely confident in his market value.
Theo Walcott said:
“My agent has talked to the club, I enjoy playing for this club so I am just letting them crack on with things and I’ll continue playing football. If it happens it happens. We’ll just play the waiting game and see what happens but I’m sure it won’t be long.”
So it sounds like he’s willing to play hardball now; but feels like he won’t have to very long.
