Time to talk Arsenal news and notes during another very long dull and boring international break. There are still plenty of Arsenal news items out there however, so let’s take a spin through them.
-NBC Sports:
Arsene Wenger has made some odd-seeming statements about Granit Xhaka, Frances Coquelin, Santi Cazorla and Aaron Ramsey and the relative merits of Arsenal’s potential holding midfield duos. He’s never come right out and said it but he has certainly implied that Coquelin has started over Xhaka early because he’s a better pairing with Santi Cazorla.
Does this imply that Xhaka would work better with Ramsey? It appears that all four will be available as soon as this weekend against Swansea. Cazorla has been valuable to start the season but his long term situation is very much up in the air.
Aaron Ramsey is closing in on an injury comeback after returning to Arsenal training. The 25-year-old is now training alongside teammates ahead of Saturday’s clash against Swansea…But Ramsey is unlikely to feature in Bob Bradley’s first Premier League clash after Francis Coquelin also returned to the fore.
Mesut Ozil has eased Arsenal fans’ fears after confirming that his early withdrawal in Germany’s 2018 World Cup qualifying win against Northern Ireland was not due to injury.
Thanks for taking care because of my substitution but everything is all right guys ?? #GERNIR #DieMannschaft
