Take this for what it is, and by that I mean it’s a transfer rumor and nothing more. According to the Mirror, Paris Saint-Germain still want Arsene Wenger but the Arsenal boss insists the Gunners would have to sack him first. Going directly to the source, Wenger has not ruled out finishing his career elsewhere.
The Arsenal Manager has said enough to fan the flames on this one. (Although it’s really very hard to imagine Arsenal sacking him right now, unless an Earth-shattering event occurs)
French magazine Sport et Style asked Wenger if he plans to stay in the Premiership when his time is up at The Emirates.
“I haven’t decided,” said Wenger, whose contract expires in 2017.
“What’s certain is that my attachment to Arsenal will stay with me until the end of my days…. at the moment I don’t see myself having a coaching career elsewhere.”
If and when his relationship with the Gunners is over, Wenger said he would the U.K.
“If tomorrow morning Arsenal say goodbye and thanks, I can’t swear that I won’t seek to continue to work, to live out my passion. But undoubtedly not in England.”
Given that Wenger is a Frenchman, it’s only natural that the PSG narrative would eventually take hold, whether it’s true or not.
