I guess finally beating Jose Mourinho, coupled with the Gunners preseason version of a treble, goes a long way with the respondents of this poll. Arsene Wenger has certainly been under fire quite a bit from Arsenal fans. In recent years, there’s been plenty of talk about his future at The Emirates.
However, he received a significant personal boost today, a couple days before the new Premier League season kicks off. Wenger received his highest approval rating in the annual poll of fans by the Arsenal Supporters’ Trust.
According to a story in The Telegraph:
“AST polled almost 700 of its members and 84 per cent either agreed or strongly agreed that their longest-serving manager was still the right man to be leading Arsenal. Only 10 per cent registered their disagreement.
Asked if they were satisfied with Arsenal’s football performance, Wenger’s work was given a thumbs up by 76 per cent of fans. Again, only one in 10 of fans expressed their dissatisfaction.”
Saturday begins the journey to see if this Arsene Wenger optimism will come to fruition or not. Arsenal has shown a tendency win a lot of minor trophies lately, and could this be a signal that they are finally ready to compete for a title again. Well, here’s our Premier League predictions for the upcoming season.
