Dejan Lovren Reveals “Disgusting” Death Threat He Received on Instagram

dejan lovren

Embattled Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren took a whole lot of heat on social media during his side’s 4-1 loss to Tottenham Hotspur a couple weeks ago. Lovren’s extremely poor performance saw him subbed out in just 31 minutes.

Heavy criticism comes with the territory when you’re a high profile, well paid public figure, but threats are always, without question, morally repugnant and uncalled for. Today Lovren went on his official Instagram account and posted a direct message he had received from a user which read: “I’m gonna murder ur family u Croatian prick.”

Alvaro Morata Hints at Chelsea Exit, then Walks Comments Back

alvaro morata

Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata, who broke the club transfer feed record when he signed from Real Madrid in the summer, has already hinted at a Stamford Bridge exit in the near future.

Then, realizing what he had just done, quickly walk backed those comments. Like someone who just got beat on defense, he did a lot of back-pedaling. Morata was quoted by an Italian newspaper praising London but also added: “I do not see myself living here for very long. Too much, too much stress, too many metropolises.”

Harry Kane Greatly Impacts Tottenham’s Fortunes and That’s not a Bad Thing

harry-kane

The narrow defeat that Tottenham Hotspur suffered to Manchester United, 1-0,  has left plenty of fans blaming on the defeat on the absence of Harry Kane from the squad. Yes, Tottenham is a side truly loaded with talented players, but, once and for all, we can finally admit to ourselves that true success for this club depends on Kane’s presence on the pitch.

If you’re a neutral fan, what comes to mind first when you think about Tottenham’s recent run of results? You might be of a similar opinion as Pep Guardiola, believing that they’re the “Harry Kane team.”

United Injury Report vs Benfica: Pogba, Fellaini, Carrick, Rojo, Ibrahimovic

Manchester United are currently on a 19-game undefeated run at home in European competition (15 wins, four draws), with their most recent defeat coming in March of 2013 against Real Madrid.

Thus it seems extremely likely they’ll secure at least one point, if not three, when they take on Benfica on Halloween night at Old Trafford in a UEFA Champions League group stage clash. A win could almost clinch United’s place in the knockout round, and if/when Mourinho gets them there, he will have achieved a milestone his predecessor Louis van Gaal never did during his time at the club.

Man United Starting XI Prediction vs Benfica (Champions League)

benfica

Manchester United host Benfica tomorrow night on the verge of clinching passage into the knockout round of UEFA Champions League. A victory tomorrow night would all but assure advancing beyond the group stages, and of course, you want to wrap that up as quickly as you can.

In sports, you never want to drift into any elimination competition through the back door. You want to go in full steam ahead with momentum. It’s not just getting there; how you get there matters.

tottenham hotspur football club

Nemanja Matic Says It’s a Six Team Premier League Title Race

nemanja matic

Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic maintains that it’s a six team Premier League title race, and the current table certainly corroborates his statements. The proverbial big six are the exact same sides that currently reside in the top six slots in the standings, and they are the same exact six teams that Matic listed.

“It’s hard to say after 10 games that someone is going to be champion,” the Serbian said ahead of his side’s UEFA Champions League clash against Benfica on Halloween.

Jose Mourinho: Manchester United Fans Have Right to Boo Me, Players

Over the weekend, Manchester United Manager Jose Mourinho got very upset about his side’s supporters booing striker Romelu Lukaku during Saturday’s 1-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur. Today however, he walked those comments back a bit, saying the fans have a right to boo both him and his players.

The win over Spurs wasn’t exactly Lukaku’s finest hour, but he did assist Anthony Martial on the game’s only goal.

Jose Mourinho Speaks on When Paul Pogba Could Return

As far as protracted injury sagas go, Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has now entered Derrick Rose in 2013 territory. Much like the former Chicago Bulls point guard, the narrative just kept shifting, back and forth, back and forth, and no one really knows when the star athlete will actually return, or if there is even a definitive time table.

Pogba has been out since Sept 12, in the UEFA Champions League opener, a victory over FC Basel.

The Frenchman has missed seven weeks and counting, with no return date in sight, although some reports have mentioned December as a target.
