Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez has been linked with a move away from the Emirates this summer, with Manchester City and Bayern Munich the leading potential destinations. Sanchez will see his Arsenal deal expire next summer, and the topic of his future came up while on international duty with Chile at the Confederations Cup.

During the press conference previewing the Chileans clash with Germany on Sunday, a reporter asked Alexis Sanchez where he’ll be playing his club football next season, prompting him to laugh and reply: “Yes it’s clear, but I can’t tell you.”

Man United Likely to Miss out on Fabinho, Claims Report in France

fabinho

Monaco midfielder Fabinho has been linked with a move to Manchester United pretty consistently over the past couple years. This narrative saw some increased traction the past couple weeks as the Brazilian himself recently admitted that the idea of a move to Man United seems “tempting.”

However, this transaction is looking less and less likely now as outlets in France report Paris Saint Germain are now swooping in. PSG is supposedly the favorite now too as United reportedly took too long to try and close the deal.

naby keita

With Mohamed Salah now aboard, who will be the next player Liverpool add this summer transfer window? On Friday, the dominant LFC transfer rumor circulating in the internet pertained to RB Leipzig’s Naby Keita.

How far along this deal has progressed, or not progressed, depends on what you read and what outlets you trust and which publications you deem to be fake news. There does seem to be a consensus though that Leipzig are demanding about £70 million, or 80 million Euro for Keita.

Ryan Giggs, Gary Neville and Paul Scholes in “Loyal XI” Team

ryan giggs

Ryan Giggs says he was not offered a chance to stay on at Manchester United once Jose Mourinho took over, ending his 29 years of service with the club. He also says that his phone isn’t exactly ringing off the hook with managerial offers either. Ryan Giggs served as caretaker manager for four games in 2014 after David Moyes was sacked, and as the #2 to Louis van Gaal from 2014-2016.

While his managerial career is yet to be established, his playing career was among the most elite. He won multiple trophies during his 672 career appearances.

Illini Basketball: Seven UI Athletics Hall of Fame Snubs

nick anderson illini basketball lou henson

Illini basketball, on the men’s side, comprised one quarter of the inaugural Illinois Athletics Hall of Fame class. That’s fitting as U of I is a hoops school. As current Illini basketball coach Brad Underwood reminded the media ahead of the HOF gala, Illinois was ranked the #11 hoops program of all time by the Associated Press.

Nick Anderson, Dee Brown, Jerry Colangelo, Dike Eddleman, Manny Jackson, Andy Phillip and Deron Williams are the seven representatives of the hoops program in the 28 member class. There is one obvious glaring omission, and fortunately Athletic Director Josh Whitman has already rectified that.

paul pogba dab great wall

Yes, the amount that Manchester United paid for Paul Pogba last summer was no doubt extraordinary and eye-popping. However, a player is truly worth whatever someone is willing to pay, and you have to give some credit to the elite performance of his agent, Mino Raiola on that deal.

Massimiliano Allegri Says He “did nothing” to Stop Pogba’s United Return

massimiliano-allegri

Juventus Manager Massimiliano Allegri revealed today that he “did nothing” to try and stop midfielder Paul Pogba from leaving last summer once the bid amount came in. To be honest, what could he have really done? Money certainly talks and when you’re conversing about £89.3 million, a world record shattering amount, how much discourse can be truly be done?

Also, what would that discourse actually accomplish in the way of preventing #Pogback? Manchester United were determined to bring the Frenchman back to the club that he once played for, no matter the cost.

mohamed salah

For Liverpool FC supporters wanting to know more about the club’s newest addition Mohamed Salah, the team has got you covered via a YouTube video. It’s been a very busy summer at Chelsea, as they have already parted ways with Nathan Ake, Asmir Begovic, Juan Cuadrado, Christian Atsu and Bertrand Traore. Also, it’s been well documented that Diego Costa is no longer part of the club’s plans, so eventually he will likely be moving on as well. All these sales free up money and space, with eye on making some big name acquisitions this summer transfer window.

Albert Almora Says He Did Not Give President Trump the Middle Finger

albert almora

The Chicago Cubs visited the White House for a second time yesterday, and this time the occasion had very limited media access. Limitations aside, this photo of Cubs outfielder Albert Almora seemingly extending his middle finger, albeit downward emerged and briefly created some uproar.

Of course, if Almora was actually “flipping the bird” to President Trump, he would have had his hand turned upward, not downward. Have a look:
