Given the timing of his release from Manchester United, and his subsequent signing by the Chicago Fire of Major League Soccer, Bastian Schweinsteiger never truly got the chance to say goodbye to his Red Devils teammates. During #McDAAG the real basketball is played behind closed doors in front of NBA scouts, what the media and general public see are just, as Ian Darke would put it, “indifferent editions.”

The real competition and news-worthiness lie in recruiting, and the top story on Wednesday surrounded uncommitted Center Brandon McCoy out of San Diego, California.

sir-alex-ferguson

Early on, the Jose Mourinho era at Manchester United has been one of polarities. Mourinho won his first three league games, then achieved just six points from the next seven Premier League matches. On October 23rd, United lost 4-0 to Chelsea; since then now undefeated (nine wins, eight draws) in their last 17 Premier League games. In their last 33, across all competitions, they have suffered just three losses.
